Camp Chair

A simple tripod-style chair for sitting around the campfire.

Materials Needed

  • 3 long poles (5-6 ft) for frame
  • 2 medium poles (3 ft) for seat support
  • 1 piece of canvas or tarp for seat
  • Lashing rope or cord

Create Tripod Base

Lash three poles together at the top using a tripod lashing, leaving them spread at the bottom.

Add Seat Support

Lash two horizontal poles between the front two legs using square lashings, about 12-18 inches from the ground.

Attach Seat

Drape canvas over the seat support poles and secure with knots or lashings.

Test and Adjust

Sit carefully to test stability. Adjust leg spread and tighten lashings as needed.
